The Kenya Meteorological Department has warned Kenyans to brace for more heavy rain as residents in various parts of the country continue counting heavy losses after heavy floods destroyed their properties.

In the capital, Nairobi, following the heavy rains experienced across the country, some roads have been heavily affected leading to partial closure.

Media in Kenya reported that last week, the Kenyan government sounded an alarm following the spilling of water from Masinga dam, the largest water reservoir for power production in the country, which surpassed its capacity of 1056.5 cubic meters.

According to media reports, in the North Rift region, more than 400 families were displaced and several hectares of food crops were damaged or submerged as floods wreaked havoc following recent heavy rains. https://x.com/KURAroads/status/17819416999392993511
