The Rwandan National Police announced that the road Ngororero-Muhanga was temporarily closed to traffic because of rains.
On its X-account, the RNP said: “We would like to inform the public that due to heavy rains in the Gatumba sector, the levee has broken at Nyabarongo I Hydropower plant, causing flooding that has made the road Ngororero-Muhanga temporarily closed to traffic.”
The Rwanda Meteorology advises people to be vigilant in this rainy season.
On April 1, 2024, between 12:00 and 18:00, rain and thunder are expected in all parts of the country. Moderate winds are expected with a speed between 3m/s – 6m/s. meteorology mentioned.
