Prime Minister Edouard Ngirente is currently in Brussels, Belgium, where he is attending the opening ceremony of the Global Gateway Forum 2023. He is representing President Paul Kagame, during the forum.

The event commenced on Wednesday, October 25, and is expected to conclude on October 26.

Ngirente is expected to deliver a keynote speech at the panel on education and research, addressing the core issues of education and research at the heart of fair, green, and digital transitions, opportunities, and challenges.

Furthermore, the global gateway nurtures key areas of the knowledge and innovation ecosystem, and education and research enablers support the impact and sustainability of investments in the other global gateway priority sectors.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Ngirente met with Amina Jane Mohammed, Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, and discussed various issues including developmental projects and cooperation between Rwanda and the UN.

The Global Gateway represents the European Union’s effort to reduce worldwide investment disparity and boost smart, clean, and secure connections in digital, energy, and transport sectors, as well as strengthen health, education, and research systems.
