Genocide Memorial Sites of Nyamata, Murambi, Gisozi and Bisesero have been inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List this Wednesday 20th, as it was announced today on UNESCO’s X (Ex-Twitter)’ account.

Rwanda Ministry of Natonal Unity and Civic Engagement released a Press Release welcoming the inclusion of these four genocide memorial sites on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.

Minister Bizimana said: “The historic inscription of the Bisesero, Gisozi, Murambi and Nyamata Sites on the World Heritage List increaes international visibility, and also honours the memory of the victims they represent throughout the world. This recognition strengthens the fight against Genocide denial and will serve to educate present and future generations.”
