Muri gahunda ya Guverinoma y’imyaka 7 (NST1),  Guverinoma y’u Rwanda yiyemeje  ko muri 2024 , buri munyarwanda azaba agerwaho n’amazi meza. Muri iki cyerekezo u Rwanda rwihaye, biteganyijwe ko umuturage azaba afite amazi meza ku ntera ya metero 200 mu mujyi na metero 500 mu bice by’icyaro, abaturage bose bakazaba bagerwaho n’amazi meza. 

Muri 2019 Leta y’u Rwanda yavuze ko yashoye agera kuri miliyoni 200 z’amadorari mu kuvugurura imiyoboro ishaje igeza amazi ku baturage mu gihugu, no kubaka imishya. Mu bijyanye no kugeza amazi hari imishinga ikomeye aho nko mu mujyi wa Kigali haguwe uruganda rwa Nzove II ruva kuri metero cube 25,000 ku munsi rugera kuri 40,000 .
