The Africa Health Summit and Awards 2026 was held in Rwanda, with the theme Advancing Equity, Innovation & Resilience in Global Health: Innovate, Integrate, Elevate: Reimagining Health Systems for Equity.
This ceremony was organized by Zenith Global Health and attended by senior leaders from government, industry, civil society, academia, philanthropy, and global organisations to translate commitments into collective action.
The Rwanda NGOs Forum is one of the champions honored at this ceremony for its contributions to the health sector across Africa.
“We were honored to lead the awarding session recognizing outstanding young leaders making transformative contributions to the health sector across Africa. The recognition of youth highlighted the critical role of youth engagement, innovation, and leadership in strengthening health systems, advancing community health, and driving sustainable change across the continent.” Said Kabanyana, Executive Director of the Rwanda NGOs Forum.
She added that young people are not only the leaders of tomorrow but also key actors of today in shaping a healthier and more resilient Africa.
About the process of her success, Kabanyana said that it was a nomination process; she could not know who nominated them.
The Rwanda NGOs Forum on HIV/AIDS & Health Promotion (RNGOF on HIV/AIDS & HP) was recognized for its contributions to diversity, inclusion, and equity.
The objectives of this summit are to drive equity-centered innovation; strengthen resilient systems for health (RSSH) with a key focus on financing; elevate community-led and locally owned solutions; and foster strategic, multisector partnerships through South-to-South learning.
