Rwanda is gearing up to receive various Industry experts, researchers, policy makers, commerce sectors, media fraternity and stakeholders for the prestigious Mobile World Congress (MWC).
“We are pleased to announce that the next edition of MWC Kigali will take place from 21 – 23 October 2025 at the Kigali Convention Centre, Rwanda,” the Global System for Mobile Communications said in a statement on Friday.
The gathering is organised in partnership with Rwanda’s Ministry of ICT & Innovation, “we look forward to welcoming industry leaders, innovators, and policy makers to Africa’s most influential connectivity event,” the GSMA statement reads in part.
“Together, we will continue to shape the future of digital and foster collaboration across the continent and beyond,” says GSMA.
This event expected to attract more than 100,000 participants (according to organisers) is primarily attended by device manufacturers, network equipment providers, representatives of wireless carriers, and the press, among others.
Various manufacturers often use the conference to unveil upcoming devices. For example, at the 2024 Mobile World Congress, Lenovo unveiled the world’s first transparent laptop.
MWC Kigali, is the African continent’s largest and most influential connectivity event that features impactful summits and forums, delving into vital topics like bridging the digital divide, leveraging mobile tech for socio-economic development, and aligning industries with UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The event organised by the GSM Association (GSMA) features in three trade shows including; Shanghai, China (MWC Shanghai, Kigali, Rwanda (MWC Kigali, formerly MWC Africa) and Las Vegas, United States (MWC Las Vegas, formerly MWC Los Angeles), but the brand remains most synonymous with the Barcelona event.
