President Paul Kagame speaking at RPF Meeting

Kigali-Rwanda: Incumbent President Paul Kagame has secured a landslide victory in the presidential elections, according to provisional results released by the National Electoral Commission. Kagame, who has been in power since 2000, received an overwhelming majority of the votes, with a reported 99.15% of the total votes cast.

Coming in second was Dr. Frank Habineza of the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda, who garnered 0.53% of the votes. Independent candidate Phillippe Mpayimana came in third with 0.32% of the votes.

The election, which saw a high voter turnout across the country, was praised for its peaceful and transparent process.

President Kagame’s victory cements his position with his leadership credited for the country’s rapid economic development and stability. Kagame has promised to continue his efforts to improve the lives of all Rwandans and lead the country towards further progress and prosperity.

The final results of the election are expected to be officially announced in the coming days, but it is clear that Kagame will remain at the helm of Rwanda for another term.
