The final exams for the primary level began on this Monday, 30 June 2025, and students say that they are confident and ready to respond well.

The students of New Light Complex Academy P6, Southern province, in the Huye district, began the National Exams at the Rukira site

A total of 220,840 students across Rwanda began their national primary leaving examinations. Among them are 120,635 girls and 100,205 boys.

The exams were officially launched by the Minister of Education, Joseph Nsengimana, at GS Institute Filippo Smaldone, located in Nyamirambo Sector, Nyarugenge District. He emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring all students, including those with disabilities, are well supported throughout the examination process.

Primary students in Kigali began exams

A total of 642 students with disabilities are sitting for these exams with access to specialized tools and accommodations. These include Braille materials for visually impaired students, large print papers, audio recorders, and extended time during exams, measures designed to ensure that every child can participate on equal footing.

This effort reflects Rwanda’s continued progress toward inclusive education and the protection of every child’s right to learn and complete their studies without discrimination.
