Christian justice professionals, including defense lawyers, prosecutors, judges, and others from 43 African countries, have gathered in Kigali for a continental conference aimed at improving their profession based on Christian values.
This biennial event, known as the Advocates Africa Conference, is being held in Rwanda for the 16th time, starting this Wednesday, August 13, 2025, under the theme “We Are the Fragrance of Christ.”
The conference serves as a platform for legal practitioners to exchange ideas on various persistent issues in the justice sector and to seek sustainable solutions.

Discussions are expected to focus on topics such as human rights, fair justice, the rights of women and children, and the role of law in sustainable development.
This comes at a time when some residents of the continent have criticized the conduct of certain justice sector officials, often accusing them of engaging in corruption an issue that undermines the delivery of justice.
